Here we are going to see how to make pori urundai. From our childhood it was everyone's one most favorite snack, so here we are going to see how to prepare pori urundai and what are all it's ingredients. It is very easy and simple and no side effects or harm to our body so anyone can eat and enjoy this snack.

Pori urundai is very cheap and can easily afford by anyone in India. It was an Indian everyone's favorite snack even mine too also it is one of the 90's kids favorite snacks. It was an South Indian traditional dessert which made up with Puffed Rice, Jaggery and Cardamom. Those who don't know what is pori urundai it's a Indian Rice and Jaggery made using puffed rice. In India it was very cheap can buy in any shop even in Shopping Mall or local grocery shop or any snack shop. Crispy puffed rice with sweet jaggery and cardamom powder which make me more mouth watering at all the time and became anytime my favorite snack.

Below are the listed ingredients,

  1. 1 cup Jaggery (150gm) [in tamil named as Vellam)
  2. 4 cup Puffed Rice (it should be more crispy)
  3. 1/2 water
  4. Pan
  5. Stove or Induction stove
  6. 2 tablespoon ghee
  7. 1 small pinch of salt

Instruction to prepare

Mix 1 cup of Jaggery with 1/2 cup of water in pan and heat in medium flame once it dissolved filter it properly and add 2 table spoon of ghee and add 1 small pinch of salt and keep in medium flame and wait till it became thick liquid.

To confirm the quality of the Jaggery water keep some water near you and take one drop of Jaggery water and pour on water and now you will see the drop flows down the water and if you take in your hand and check it will be more hard in condition.

Yep, cool now Jaggery water is ready to prepare pori urundai. Now add small amount of Cardamom powder in Jaggery water for traditional smell and mix it properly.

Now take the 4 cup of Puffed Rice and mix it with Jaggery water till it mix properly with Puffed Rice and Jaggery water. Apply some small amount of Rice Flour in hand for Jaggery and Puffed Rice not stick with the hand. Finally now the snack was ready to make in small balls. Take the necessary quantity amount of mixed Jaggery and Puffed Rice and prepare the balls.

Finally now pori urundai is ready to serve and make sure that you should keep it in air tight container to maintain the crispiness in a stable manner.
